Local pacer Kashif Ali called up to join the Pakistan squad during a training camp for the upcoming Australia tour at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on November 23, caused quite a buzz.
Kashif displayed exceptional skill while bowling in the nets, troubling the Pakistani batters with precise line and length. His bowling consistently troubled the batsmen, often beating them on both edges of the bat.
Particularly, he posed challenges for key batsmen like Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, making a strong case for being considered in future Pakistan squads.
Kashif’s recent performances in domestic cricket have been outstanding. In the 2023-24 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy for Rawalpindi, he secured 26 wickets in seven matches at an average of 25.23. His notable performance included three instances of taking five wickets in an innings, ranking him as the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the tournament.
Continuing his impactful form, Kashif claimed ten wickets in the 2023 Pakistan Cup, maintaining an impressive average of 16 across five matches.
Among the seven players invited to join the training camp for the Australia Test series, Kashif Ali showcased his potential along with others like Arshad Iqbal, Mohammad Nawaz, Shadab Khan, Shahnawaz Dahani, Usama Mir, and Usman Qadir.
