Iftikhar Ahmed Picks National T20 League Over T10

Pakistan’s middle-order batter, Iftikhar Ahmed, shared why he chose to play in the National T20 League over the Abu Dhabi T10 League.

The 33-year-old had a contract with Bangla Tigers for the T10 league, set to begin on December 28. However, he decided to prioritize domestic cricket with the Peshawar region.

“I had a contract for the T10 league, but I canceled it to play here in domestic cricket. Playing for Pakistan after performing in domestic cricket has earned me respect. As a player and professional, I want to show respect to domestic cricket and Pakistan” explained Iftikhar during the National T20 sidelines.

Currently, the National T20 League is ongoing across four venues in Karachi, featuring eighteen teams. The group stage runs until November 28, followed by the Super Eight stage starting from December 1.

Matches will take place at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The tournament format includes group stage rounds, qualifiers, and the final.

Last season, the Deccan Gladiators claimed victory over New York Striker in the Abu Dhabi T10 League final.
