Iftikhar, having played for Peshawar Zalmi, Karachi Kings, and Islamabad United previously, is set to join Multan Sultans, becoming the first player in the league’s history to play for five different teams.
Expressing his delight, Iftikhar shared his excitement about joining Multan Sultans, highlighting the honor of representing the passionate people of Multan. He aims to contribute towards the team’s ambition of clinching the prestigious HBL PSL trophy.
Sultan’s captain, Rizwan, welcomed Iftikhar, acknowledging his exceptional all-round abilities and valuable contributions with the bat in recent years. Rizwan emphasized Iftikhar’s skills aligning with the team’s goal of becoming champions, not just on the field but also for his positive team spirit.
This trade marks Multan Sultans’ first move in the PSL 9 Draft scheduled for December 13 in Lahore.
Meanwhile, Rilee Rossouw rejoined Quetta Gladiators, the team with whom he secured the PSL trophy in 2019, and emerged as the second top-scorer in the final against Peshawar Zalmi, scoring 39 runs.
This trade follows another significant PSL exchange where Karachi Kings’ captain, Imad Wasim, moved to Islamabad United, while Hasan Ali joined the 2020 PSL winners.
