Travis Head and captain Mitchell Marsh combined for 81 runs after losing the opening wicket, regaining control for their side.

With Axar Patel playing a brilliant match against Yadav’s delivery, Marsh left the game after scoring 37 off of 28. Glenn Maxwell came in after the skipper was dismissed, but he was also dismissed by Yadav’s googly and could not put together a strong performance.

Even though wickets continued to tumble, Australia remained in the match because Travis Head was continuously hammering the Indian bowlers. But Bumrah eliminated the left-handed batsman in the 17th over, dealing a severe setback to the Australian team.

The blistering performance that India’s skipper Rohit Sharma produced earlier, scoring 92 runs on 41 balls with seven fours and eight sixes, was the high point of the team’s innings.

India’s innings got off to a bad start as their best batsman, Virat Kohli, went back to the pavilion empty-handed. Nevertheless, Sharma continued to play aggressive cricket despite being dismissed.

Mitchell Starc took an over to dismiss Sharma for 29 runs, including four sixes and a four. This overmarked the beginning of Hitman’s onslaught on the Australian bowlers, which continued until the finish of his innings.

The 37-year-old’s innings was cut short by Starc’s yorker just as he was about to reach his well-deserved century. After his knock was over, the 37-year-old had smashed the most sixes in T20 World Cup history and was the top run scorer in T20Is.
