In a recent announcement, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn, and Andrew Puttick, who were given new roles at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore after the disappointing World Cup 2023, have decided to step down from their positions in Pakistan Cricket.
The resignations, communicated to the PCB, will be effective by the end of January 2024. The decision was reached amicably, and the PCB has expressed best wishes for their future endeavors, thanking them for their contributions.
In April 2023, Mickey Arthur took on the role of Director of the Pakistan men’s cricket team, Grant Bradburn became the head coach the previous year, and Andrew Puttick was the batting coach since April 2023.
Before this, Arthur had been the head coach of the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team from 2016 to 2019, guiding them to the No. 1 spot in the ICC Test team rankings and victory in the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy.
Arthur has also coached South Africa, Australia, and Sri Lanka in international cricket.
Grant Bradburn, 57, served as the fielding coach of the Pakistan men’s team from 2018 to 2020 and later as the Head of High-Performance Coaching at NCA until October 2021. During his recent tenure as head coach, Pakistan achieved the No. 1 spot in the ICC ODI team rankings. Recently, he left to join Glamorgan as head coach under a three-year deal.
As for Andrew Puttick, he was the first to leave after being appointed as the batting coach for the Afghanistan men’s cricket team. Meanwhile, Mickey Arthur has taken on the role of Director of Derbyshire County. He has been juggling this responsibility along with his position as the Director of the men’s team for Pakistan Cricket.
These changes mark a significant shift in the coaching landscape for Pakistan Cricket, and the PCB is now set to find suitable replacements for these key positions.
