PCB in Talks with Sir Vivian Richards for T20 World Cup 2024 Mentorship

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is trying to convince West Indies Star Batsman Sir Vivian Richards for Pakistan Team mentorship in the World Cup.

The Pakistan Cricket Board wants to bring Sir Vivian Richards on board for Pakistan Cricket Team mentorship in the T20 World Cup 2024, because of their good knowledge of West Indies conditions. As T20 World Cup is happening in the Caribbean and the United States.

A top Board official reportedly acknowledged to a local media outlet that negotiations with Richards are in progress. His knowledge will be of great use to the PCB, especially during the West Indies leg of the competition.

“The board is highly impressed with how Richards has performed as a mentor with the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League. They are keen to have him mentor the Pakistan squad for the World T20,” the source revealed.

Nonetheless, Richards’ pre-existing media obligations for the massive event provide a significant obstacle to his appointment.

“They are trying to find a solution because the Board is very keen on having Richards as the mentor, but he has not yet agreed to anything,” the official added.
