In Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) season nine, emerging fast bowler Ubaid Shah, part of Islamabad United, aims to take down the top batsman of Pakistan Cricket Babar Azam. After his debut practice session with the team, the 18-year-old expressed his excitement for the upcoming challenge.
Ubaid Shah Brother of Naseem Shah joins Islamabad United along with his brother for PSL 9. He eagerly looks forward to bowling alongside his favorite bowler, Naseem.
“I learned a lot from bowling with Naseem today, especially about adapting to T20 conditions”
The youngster is determined to perform well for United and has set his sights on dismissing Babar and other top batters in the tournament. He credits the supportive team environment under new head coach Mike Hesson and captain Shadab Khan for boosting his confidence.
Ubaid also disclosed the shared ambition among the Shah brothers to represent Pakistan together. “We contribute to the bowling department, and our ultimate goal is to play for our country,” he stated.
Recently, Ubaid impressed in the U19 World Cup, finishing as Pakistan’s leading wicket-taker with 18 wickets in South Africa. PSL 9 will span across Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi, with the final scheduled for March 18 at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium.
The tournament will feature two legs, with matches initially held in Multan and Lahore, followed by games in Rawalpindi and Karachi. The playoffs will be entirely hosted in Karachi.
