Zaka Ashraf visits Colombo to meet with national players

Zaka Ashraf, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee, has left for Colombo, sparking excitement as he is to meet with Sri Lanka’s national cricketers there.

As a result of Mohan de Silva, the president of Sri Lanka Cricket, inviting Ashraf to visit, Zaka Ashraf left for Colombo between Friday and Saturday night.

His visit occurs during the Asia Cup, which will begin in Multan on August 30 as part of Pakistan’s hosting responsibilities and start in Sri Lanka on August 31. Ashraf will monitor the preparations while he is here as well as participate in important meetings.

According to sources, the PCB chairman is aggressively seeking to improve Pakistan’s ties with countries that play Test matches. He will continue his ongoing series of meetings as part of this endeavor.

“It’s a big achievement of PCB that after 15 years Asia Cup is coming back to Pakistan,” he said.

As the leader of the PCB, which will host the Asian competition, Ashraf responded to a query by saying that all teams are on an equal footing with him, but he hopes Pakistan wins the championship.

He has been invited by Sri Lanka Cricket to attend the Lanka Premier League 2023 championship game, which is to take place on Sunday.
