Perth Stadium readies for the upcoming first Test showdown between Australia vs Pakistan set to kick off from December 14 to 18.
The stadium’s been bustling with preparations, notably the installation of five drop-in pitches on the wicket square.

Each of these massive pitches weighs about 25 tonnes and took a full two days to set up.
This intricate process started back in February, with WA Cricket curators meticulously tending to these pitches in a nearby nursery, located just north of the stadium by the outdoor practice wickets. Using local clay and grass varieties, the drop-in wickets were recently moved with the help of a specialized 40-tonne cricket wicket transporter.
The aim? To replicate the fast, bouncy conditions that made the iconic WACA Ground famous. After the Test wraps up, Perth Stadium will switch gears to host five home matches for the Perth Scorchers in BBL 13, starting from December 20.
