He was enthusiastic about the upcoming three-match Test series between Pakistan and Australia.

Engaging with the team during their practice match, Hawkins met key players like Captain Shan Masood, Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Muhammad Rizwan. Team Director Muhammad Hafeez shared insights into the team’s preparations for the series.

While joining in for a few shots, Hawkins wished the Pakistan team the best for their trip to Australia. He stressed his support, seeing them not just as cricketers but as ambassadors building connections with fans from Pakistan and Australia.

“I encourage all Pakistanis to back the Shaheens,” said the Australian High Commissioner, looking forward to an exciting series.

He highlighted the historical significance of the upcoming tour, mentioning the Perth Stadium’s debut as a venue for Pakistan on December 14, followed by the prestigious Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground from December 26 to 30, and the final match at the Sydney Cricket Ground on January 3, 2024.

“We’re anticipating a thrilling competition and a fantastic Australian summer of cricket” Hawkins concluded.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan team is resting today, finishing their training tomorrow. They’ll depart for Sydney at 3 am local time on November 30, expecting a 10-12 hour journey. After a brief rest in Sydney, the squad heads to Canberra for a four-day match against Australia’s Prime Minister XI at Manuka Oval from December 6-9.

The Australian tour schedule includes Canberra, Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney matches, promising an exciting cricket season ahead.
