Glamorgan Signs Pacer Mir Hamza for County Championship

Glamorgan has signed Pakistani bowler Mir Hamza as an overseas player for the first part of the 2024 season. The 31-year-old left-arm bowler will play in the first seven County Championship matches.

Hamza has played five Test matches for Pakistan, with his best performance being 4 wickets for 32 runs against Australia in 2023. He has taken 434 wickets in first-class cricket at an average of around 22. In T20 cricket, he has an average of 29 with the ball, with his best figures being 4 wickets for 9 runs.

Hamza said he’s excited to join Glamorgan and work with Coach Grant again in the County Championship. He looks forward to meeting the fans and helping the team start the season positively.

“I have heard many great things about Cardiff from my teammates who played there last summer and look forward to meeting all of the supporters.”
