Khurram Shahzad, a new face in Pakistan’s cricket team, felt discomfort in his left side during the initial Australia Test in Perth, according to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday.
The PCB mentioned that they sent him for an MRI scan right after the match due to his complaint. They plan to share more info once the medical team examines the MRI results.
He made his debut in the Perth Test and took five wickets. Sadly, Pakistan faced a tough loss, failing to match Australia’s strength. They struggled in both innings, first getting dismissed for 271, and then collapsing for only 89 runs in the fourth innings, chasing a huge target of 450.
The team also faced consequences for their slow over-rate, getting fined 10% of their match fee and losing two ICC World Test Championship points.
Looking ahead, Pakistan gears up for a practice match against Victoria on December 22-23 before the second Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground from December 26-30.
