Left-handed fast bowler Mohammad Amir shared his reaction after being chosen by Quetta Gladiators in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9 Draft held on Wednesday.
Amir, who had been with Karachi Kings since the inaugural season in 2016, was released by the franchise this year. While there were doubts about his selection, Amir became Quetta Gladiators’ second pick in the Platinum round.
Expressing gratitude, Amir posted on his X account, acknowledging his selection by the 2019 PSL champions. He also shared a verse from the Qur’an.
Amir retired from international cricket in December 2020 and is actively playing in leagues worldwide.
He confirmed no intentions of returning to international cricket, as disclosed by Pakistan Team Director Hafeez. Hafeez mentioned that he encouraged Amir to consider domestic cricket if he aimed to represent Pakistan again.
Amir reaffirmed his retirement earlier this year during a media interaction.
He emphasized the importance of the younger generation coming forward and expressed his belief that his time in international cricket had concluded.
