No Evidence of Match-Fixing, Shoaib Malik Innocence Confirmed

BPL franchise Fortune Barisal debunked rumors of all-rounder Shoaib Malik involvement in match-fixing, confirming that he left the league due to personal reasons, according to owner Mizanur Rahaman’s video statement on Friday.

“Reports of Malik’s match-fixing are false,” stated Rahaman.

“He’s a talented cricketer, and his performance with us was impressive.”

Malik departed Bangladesh recently for Dubai, extending his stay until February 5 for personal matters, prompting the franchise to end his contract due to prolonged absence.

Barisal assured they would re-engage Malik if needed in the future. However, following the contract termination, news outlets alleged Malik’s match-fixing involvement based on three no-balls bowled in a BPL match.

Shoaib Malik, who recently announced his marriage to actor Sana Javed, addressed the issue on social media, urging caution against spreading rumors and emphasizing the need for accurate information verification.

The veteran cricketer’s career spans over two decades, with notable performances in ODI, Test, and T20I formats, showcasing his enduring prowess in international cricket.
