Pakistan women’s team chief selector Saleem Jaffar today revealed a 15-player squad for the white-ball series against South Africa. Three T20Is and three ODIs make up the series; the ODIs are a part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2022–25.

The 18-year-old Shawaal Zulfiqar, who is also a member of Pakistan’s team for the Asian Games later this month, has been chosen for the three T20 Internationals.
After making a comeback from a finger injury that sidelined her for more than six months, right-arm fast bowler Diana Baig is considered for both squads. In January of this year, she suffered a finger injury during the third One-Day International match against Australia.
Experienced all-rounder Nida Dar will serve as the team’s captain in lieu of Bismah Maroof, who resigned following the ICC Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup in February of this year.

Pakistan vs South Africa (all matches at National Bank Stadium, Karachi)
With 5 wins in 9 matches, the Pakistan women’s team is fourth in the ICC Women’s Championship 2022–25 points standings. Pakistan will host Sri Lanka (2-1) and Ireland (3-0) at home in the ICC Women’s Championship at Karachi and Lahore, respectively, as this will be their 3rd home series in the competition.
On August 27, South Africa will arrive in Karachi to start their first-ever tour of Pakistan. After competing in just one series in the tournament and winning all three of their matches against Ireland, which were played in June 2022, they are presently ranked 9th in the ICC Women’s tournament.
