Peshawar Zalmi Drops New Anthem Featuring Babar Azam and Hania Amir

Peshawar Zalmi, a Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise, has unveiled its official anthem ahead of the ninth season of the country’s premier T20 tournament. The anthem, created by Abdullah Siddiqui, Zahoor, and Asfandyar Asad, features renowned actor Hania Amir and Zalmi’s captain Babar Azam in its video.

The opening ceremony is set to precede the first match between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium today. Notable artists including Ali Zafar, Aima Baig, Arif Lohar, and Noori will perform, accompanied by fireworks and a laser show, adding to the event’s allure.

Gates will open for spectators at 3:30 pm, and the ceremony will commence at 6:30 pm. PSL 9 will unfold across four cities—Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi—with the final showdown slated for March 18 at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium.

Following a two-leg format, Multan Cricket Stadium and Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host 14 matches from February 17 to 27, before action shifts to Rawalpindi’s Pindi Cricket Stadium and Karachi’s National Bank Stadium for 16 matches from February 28 to March 12. The playoffs will be held entirely in Karachi.

An eagerly awaited fixture between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings is set for February 24 and March 9, with Gaddafi Stadium and the National Bank Stadium serving as the venues, respectively.

Teams like Kings, Qalandars, Sultans, and United will enjoy home advantage, playing multiple matches at their respective grounds. Meanwhile, Peshawar Zalmi will play four matches at Pindi Cricket Stadium, and Quetta Gladiators will have a balanced schedule across Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan.
