Naseem Shah, the Pakistani fast bowler, is set to switch to Islamabad United for the upcoming season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), reported by sources to GeoSuper.tv.
The 20-year-old is likely to move to Islamabad United after choosing not to continue with Quetta Gladiators. The agreement between Naseem and Islamabad United is reportedly at 90 percent.
Meanwhile, sources also mentioned that the Gladiators are interested in bringing in hard-hitting batter Azam Khan in place of Naseem Shah. Additionally, there’s a possibility of Mohammad Wasim Jr being traded to Gladiators.
Naseem decided to part ways with the Gladiators due to personal reasons, having been with the team since 2019.
Recently, the PCB disclosed the player draft pick order for PSL 9. Quetta Gladiators have the first pick, while Karachi Kings and Islamabad United hold the second and third picks, respectively. Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans will make the fourth and fifth picks, with Lahore Qalandars concluding the first round with the sixth pick.
The PSL 9 Draft is tentatively scheduled for mid-December, following the National T20.
The exact dates for PSL 2024 are pending advice from the government of Pakistan due to the general election slated for February 8, 2024. The PCB and franchises agreed to seek prompt advice to finalize the tournament’s dates.
Additionally, franchisees urged the PCB to hasten the sale of PSL Media rights.
