PSL 9 Player Draft Order Revealed: Who's on Top?

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed the PSL 9 Player Draft pick order for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL). Quetta Gladiators get the first pick, with Karachi Kings and Islamabad United following closely.

Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans make the fourth and fifth picks, while Lahore Qalandars finish off the first round.

Based on the previous season’s standings, the selection order for the first round sets the pace for the Platinum category.

To ensure fairness, the PCB stated that each category’s first pick belongs to a different franchise.

Quetta Gladiators start the Platinum picks, Karachi Kings lead the Diamond category, Peshawar Zalmi take the opening Gold pick, and so on. Lahore Qalandars will have the first Supplementary pick.

The PCB had earlier opened the registration window for foreign players. The PSL 9 is set tentatively from 8 February to 24 March 2024.

Teams will submit relegation requests for players before finalizing retentions. After this, teams can match the player’s base category. If not matched, players may move to a lower category.

The PSL 9 Draft is tentatively scheduled for mid-December, following the National T20 conclusion.

Franchisees will now submit relegation requests for players before finalizing retentions. Following the floating of relegation requests, all teams can match the player’s base category. If the player’s base category is not matched, they may be relegated to a category below their base category.

The HBL PSL 9 Draft is tentatively scheduled to take place in mid-December, immediately following the conclusion of the National T20.
