PSL News: Wasim Akram not Happy with Shadab Decisions Agianst Multan Sultan

From the Latest PSL News, the former Captain of Pakistan Wasim Akram is not happy with the skipper of Islamabad United Shadab Khan because he did not come to bat early when United batters were struggling on the field in a match against Multan Sultan.

In the Opening game of Islamabad United Captain Shadab Khan was the one who led the team along Agha Salman against Lahore Qalandars. He made a half-century while batting in the 5th spot in this match.

Additionally, Shadab came to bat on number seven and just scored 11 on 9 deliveries.

“When you have a captain who is in form and scored 74 in 41 balls in the previous match, why didn’t he come in to bat at three or four? He (Shadab) said in the post-match press conference that the wicket was a bit difficult which is why I wanted to send in a proper batter. I hope that was a language barrier because if that’s the case it means that he will come out to bat early when the pitch is easy but send anyone else if that’s not the case,” Akram said on a local sports channel.

Multan Sultans bagged their second consecutive win at the PSL 9 after they defeated Islamabad United by five wickets at Multan Cricket Stadium.

After restricting Islamabad United to 144 in 20 overs, courtesy of outstanding bowling by Mohammad Ali and Abbas Afridi, Sultans organized to chase the target in the final over on the back of a persistent half-century by Reeza Hendricks.

Scores in brief:

  • Multan Sultans beat Islamabad United by five wickets
  • Islamabad United 144 all out, 20 overs (Salman Ali Agha 52, Jordan Cox 41; Mohammad Ali 3-19, Abbas Afridi 3-33, Usama Mir 2-29)
  • Multan Sultans 145-5, 19.5 overs (Reeza Hendricks 58, Mohammad Rizwan 41; Naseem Shah 2-27)
