The first edition of the Sindh Premier League (SPL) is all set to start on December 14 in Karachi, as confirmed by the league’s organizers in a recent press release.
This much-awaited tournament will feature six teams.
Sindh Premier League Teams:
- Benazirabad Lals
- Hyderabad Bahadurs
- Karachi Gladiators
- Khairpur Royals
- Larkana Challengers
- Sukkur Patriots
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, is slated to attend the opening ceremony. He’s expected to address the audience during the event.
SPL expressed their gratitude to the Governor of Sindh, Kamran Tessori, acknowledging his significant support in making this cricket extravaganza possible.

Additionally, the league plans to close with a grand ceremony on December 25, graced by the presence of Pakistan’s interim Prime Minister, Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar.
The SPL organizers invite cricket enthusiasts and the community to join them in celebrating the spirit of the game and witnessing this significant moment in cricket history.
Several top cricketers from Pakistan are set to participate in this highly anticipated league, with prominent names like Shadab Khan, Shoaib Malik, Imad Wasim, Shan Masood, Shahnawaz Dahani, and Sharjeel Khan among those representing the various teams.
In June 2022, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, the provincial minister of local government, announced plans to promote and develop cricket in Sindh. Inspired by the Kashmiri counterpart, it was revealed that a domestic cricket team for Sindh would soon be established.
By March of the following year, a launching ceremony took place in the auditorium of the Sindh Assembly. Notable guests at the event included Shahid Afridi and Abdul Razzaq.
