Simultaneously, pacer Mohammad Amir has bid farewell to Karachi Kings. Both players have been key members of their respective teams since the PSL’s inception.

In previous moves, the Kings traded their skipper Imad Wasim to Islamabad United in exchange for Hasan Ali. Imad Wasim, the captain who led the team to victory in PSL 5, will now don Islamabad United’s colors in the upcoming tournament.

The PCB announced this player exchange, highlighting Hasan Ali’s move to Karachi Kings in the Diamond category. This trade also saw Karachi Kings securing Islamabad United’s first-round silver pick by giving away their second-round silver pick.

PSL season nine draft is set to occur at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. The tournament itself is tentatively slated from February 8 to March 24, 2024.

Initial reports suggested UAE and South Africa as potential hosts for early PSL 9 matches due to upcoming elections in Pakistan. Despite this, most franchises are insisting on hosting the entire event within Pakistan’s borders.
