In a display of commitment to keeping sports separate from politics, Pakistan has confirmed its Cricket Team’s participation in the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. This decision comes in response to India’s refusal to send its Cricket Team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, highlighting Pakistan’s constructive and responsible approach in the face of India’s intransigent attitude, a Spokesperson Foreign Office added.

However, Pakistan has expressed deep concerns about the security of its Cricket Team during the tournament. The authorities are conveying these concerns to both the International Cricket Council and Indian officials, urging them to ensure the full safety and security of the Pakistan Cricket Team during their visit to India.

The committee led by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari includes senior government officials such as Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Minister of Inter-Provincial Coordination Ehsan-ur-Rehman Mazari, heads of national security agencies, and the foreign secretary.
