Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi got promoted in the latest ICC Test rankings. In the most recent International Cricket Council (ICC) Test rankings, they have received promotions.
Babar Azam benefited from the downgrading of Australians Marnus Labuschagne and Travis Head. who combined for just 76 runs in the recently finished Test series against Sri Lanka. Despite finishing seventh and eighth in the Ashes Test series, Labuschagne (328) and Head (362) lost their ratings.

Saud Shakeel and Abdullah Shafique, who are from Pakistan, are currently ranked 15th and 21st. In their backyard against Sri Lanka, both hitters hit their first 200-run mark.
Australian Steve Steve Smith moved up to third place after the Ashes series victory. Second place went to England’s Joe Root (412), who is also the third-highest run-scorer in Ashes Tests. With a score of 883, New Zealand’s Kane Williamson, who last played a Test in March of this year, kept the top spot. Williamson was hurt while playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this year, and it is doubtful that he will play in the 2018 World Cup.
Shaheen Shah Afridi has moved up three spots to sixth after taking six wickets in two Tests against Sri Lanka. Shaheen Shah Afridi has achieved career-high ratings in both ODIs and T20Is, ranking No. 3 and No. 12 respectively.

The two Pakistani bowlers who are making progress are Hasan Ali and Yasir Shah. Yasir and Hasan both moved up in the rankings after their recent performances in the Test matches
Ravichandran Ashwin, an Indian spinner, is ranked first on the bowlers’ table with an 879 rating. Third place was eventually attained by his countryman Ravindra Jadeja.
Stuart Broad, an experienced bowler for England, achieved fourth place, marking his penultimate position before declaring his retirement from Test cricket.
