PCB Introduce first Inter-College Ramadan T20 Cup

PCB has Introduced the first Inter-College Ramadan T20 Cup that will be played in different cities, Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad.  There will be a total of 30 colleges that will participate in this event.

The tournament will start from Lahore on 22 March, while games will start from 23 March in other cities of Islamabad and Karachi.

The purpose of the tournament is to bring awareness among students and also improvement in youth cricket for the future.

Many regional associations will help PCB to complete this tournament some big names are Lahore Regional Cricket Association (LRCA), Karachi Regional Association (KRCA), and Islamabad Regional Cricket Association (IRCA).

On this occasion, Chairman of PCB Mohsin Naqvi stated that:

We are thrilled to announce the inaugural Ramadan Inter-College T20 tournament to foster cricket talent within educational institutions. This tournament expresses our commitment to game development at the grassroots level.

The spirit of Ramadan, combined with the excitement of T20 cricket, promises an electrifying atmosphere on the field.

Our vision extends beyond just cricket and through this tournament, we hope to encourage students to pursue both academic excellence and sporting achievements.

By hosting this tournament in Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad, we aim to provide a platform for young cricketers from diverse backgrounds to showcase their skills and passion for the game.

The Director of Domestic Cricket in Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Abdullah Khurram Niazai also highlighted why this tournament is important. He said:

“We are organizing this tournament, as per the vision of the Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi, to increase the outreach of the game to a vast majority of the students who normally find it tough to juggle between playing cricket and their studies.

“I am confident this tournament will also bring some exciting talent to the forefront as well while providing young students the opportunities to prove their mettle on the cricket field.”

There will be teams that take part in this tournament and will play games at every venue. So, they will be divided into 2 groups, and the top team from each group will play the final against each other.

Each team will play 4 games in the Inter-College Ramadan T20 Cup. So it means a total of 21 games are played in groups.

A minimum of 14 players are allowed in a squad and 3 reserve players and officials number is the same as a reserve.

The winning prize of the tournament will be PKR 500,000 in cash while the runners-up will take half prize of PKR 250,000.
