Caretaker CM Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, has assumed the role of the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee, according to reports from local sources on Monday.
Sources indicate that Mohsin Naqvi is set to take over the position on the PCB Governing Board, replacing Zaka Ashraf, following Ashraf’s departure. The Prime Minister of Pakistan nominated Naqvi as the Patron-in-Chief of the PCB after Zaka Ashraf’s resignation. Additionally, plans for PCB elections have been set within the next two weeks.
Confirming the news, Mohsin Naqvi spoke to reporters, stating:
“I will strive to address the issues affecting Pakistan cricket. Reforms in cricket are crucial at this time.”
The formal notification for Naqvi’s appointment is expected to be issued today. Zaka Ashraf resigned from the role of Chairman of the PCB Management Committee and as a member of the Board of Governors on January 19.
