ENG vs SCO: Match Abandoned After Scotland’s Batting

The Sixth game of the ICC World Cup 2024 between ENG vs SCO was abandoned due to heavy rain at at Kensington Oval, Barbados, on Tuesday.

On batting first Scotland was on 90-0, then the rain started once again and the match representers decided to call off ENG vs SCO. In this way, both teams get one point each.

The match was stopped in the first innings because of two hours of rain in Barbados. The game was then shortened to 10 overs.

George Munsey scored 41 runs from 31 balls, and Michael Jones scored 45 runs from 39 balls. They were the only Scottish players to bat.

Earlier, Scotland’s captain Richie Berrington won the toss and chose to bat first. He hoped his team would go as far as possible in the tournament. Richie Berrington said:

Jos Buttler, the captain of England, said that Mark Wood is starting over Reece Topley and added that he would have bowled first anyhow.

“Everyone’s really excited to get going. It was a 50-50 call [with Reece Topley and Mark Wood] but we have gone for the extra pace of Wood today,” Buttler said.
