In the fifth match of ICC World Cup 2024 between AFG vs UGA at Guyana Stadium. Afghanistan Mauls Uganda by 125 Runs with the help of Fazalhaq farooqi’s brilliant blowing spell in the match.

In the AFG vs UGA, Fazalhaq Farooqi touched his career-best figure of 5-9 against Uganda. The AFG dismissed the whole UGA team on just 58 runs in 16 overs.

Farooqi the star of the match took 2 main wickets in the first over of the innings which appeared as a sudden setback for the Uganda team. After losing two wickets early, they didn’t manage to make a return to the game and faced a high-scoring defeat.

Besides Farooqi, Rashid Khan and Naveen-ul-Haq also get two wickets for the team.

Robinson Obuya top-scored for Uganda with 14 runs in 25 balls despite a poor batting performance.

In the sixth World Cup match, Uganda chose to bowl first against Afghanistan after winning the toss.

Afghanistan ended their first-inning batsmanship at 183-5 in 20 overs.

Afghanistan’s opening batsmen give their side a strong start with a 154-run partnership for the first wicket. Ibrahim Zadran added 70 runs in 46 balls, while Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 76 in 45 balls.

The opening stand of 154 by Gurbaz and Zadran was the second-highest in the history of the men’s T20 World Cup, surpassed only by the 170 partnership of England’s Jos Buttler and Alex Hales in 2022.

Furthermore, the AFG team made a good start in the innings, but they lost a sudden four wickets on just 16 runs which helped the opponent to stop them from big figures.

Captain of Uganda Cricket Team Brain Masaba was the bowler from the side that clinched 2 wickets on 21 runs in just 4 overs. While Cosmas Kyewuta took as many wickets.

In the last overs of the innings, the Afghanistan team only made 27 runs and lost four wickets dropping their run rate to 5.40.
