The selection committee, head coach Jason Gillespie, and Test captain Shan Masood have started talking about Pakistan’s team for the Test series against Bangladesh, according to a previous report from Geo News.

It’s conceivable that Haris Rauf won’t even be included in the squad, while the current white-ball captain Barber Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi would be rested for the Test matches against Bangladesh.

Salman Ali Agha, Abdullah Shafique, Saud Shakeel, and Sarfaraz Ahmed—a former captain and batsman-wicketkeeper—are all being considered for the final roster.

Naseem Shah, Shahnawaz Dahani, Mir Hamza, Khurram Shahzad, and Aamir Jamal are being considered for selection in the fast bowling department.

This series will mark Masood’s second assignment since being elected captain of the Pakistan Test team last year and Gillespie’s first since taking over as head coach in April. In a three-Test series that Pakistan lost 3-0 in Australia, he first captained the team against that nation.

Masood is playing in the County Championship for the Yorkshire County Cricket Club right now.
