Khan, a pivotal part of the team’s coaching setup since the league’s inception, steps into this new position after an eight-year stint as head coach.

Under Khan’s coaching, the team secured the championship in 2019 and were runners-up twice, showcasing consistent success and growth for the Gladiators.

Owner Nadeem Omar and the entire team warmly congratulate the former wicketkeeper-batter on this elevation.

“The owner Nadeem Omar and the team extend their best wishes to the newly appointed Team Director, believing in his ability to lead the team to dominance in the premier cricket league,” stated the Gladiators.

Meanwhile, a record-breaking 254 foreign players have signed up for PSL season nine, as per The News.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is preparing for the ninth edition with many foreign players showing keen interest.

An official noted that the list comprises players from cricketing nations, notably missing prominent Australian names.

Among these registrations, 20 players fall into the platinum category, with a significant presence from England.

The PSL draft is set for Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.

PSL 9 is tentatively scheduled from February 8 to March 24, 2024.

The renewal process for local player categories concluded on November 10, upgrading nine players’ statuses.

The registration window for foreign players opened on October 25, drawing interest from top players worldwide.

The trade and retention window is currently open.

Earlier reports suggested that UAE and South Africa might host some PSL 9 matches due to elections in Pakistan.

However, most franchises are adamant about holding the entire event in Pakistan.
