However, a remarkable partnership between Dasun Shanaka and Mohammad Nawaz changed the game’s momentum in favor of the Tigers. Their combined efforts added 77 runs to the total, allowing the team to reach a competitive score of 160 runs with six wickets down.
Mohammad Nawaz played a pivotal role in this resurgence, smashing a quickfire 55 runs off 34 deliveries. His innings included five boundaries and three sixes, showcasing an impressive strike rate of 161.76.
During the chase, Rangpur Riders faced early setbacks, with Babar Azam departing for a mere 2 runs, caught LBW by Mohammad Wasim Jr. This early blow put them under pressure from the start.
Despite Mohammad Nabi’s valiant effort, where he scored a half-century, the Riders fell short as they were eventually bowled out for 132 runs. Consequently, the Khulna Tigers emerged victorious with a convincing 28-run margin.
