Pakistan’s versatile cricketer, Mohammad Nawaz, showcased his exceptional skills, guiding the Khulna Tigers to a commanding victory against the Rangpur Riders in the latest match of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024.


In the initial phase of the game, the Khulna Tigers faced some challenges, losing four key wickets within the first ten overs with the scoreboard reading just 64 runs.

However, a remarkable partnership between Dasun Shanaka and Mohammad Nawaz changed the game’s momentum in favor of the Tigers. Their combined efforts added 77 runs to the total, allowing the team to reach a competitive score of 160 runs with six wickets down.

Mohammad Nawaz played a pivotal role in this resurgence, smashing a quickfire 55 runs off 34 deliveries. His innings included five boundaries and three sixes, showcasing an impressive strike rate of 161.76.

During the chase, Rangpur Riders faced early setbacks, with Babar Azam departing for a mere 2 runs, caught LBW by Mohammad Wasim Jr. This early blow put them under pressure from the start.

Despite Mohammad Nabi’s valiant effort, where he scored a half-century, the Riders fell short as they were eventually bowled out for 132 runs. Consequently, the Khulna Tigers emerged victorious with a convincing 28-run margin.

Not only did Mohammad Nawaz shine with the bat, but he also made significant contributions with the ball, claiming two crucial wickets. He dismissed Brandon King and Shamim Hossain and maintained an economical bowling spell, conceding only 13 runs in two overs at an impressive economy rate of 6.50. Mohammad Wasim Jr also played a vital role, securing two wickets in his four-over spell, including the dismissals of Babar Azam and Mohammad Nabi, with an economy rate of 8.45.
