Three of the most prominent and senior players in India announced their retirements in less than a day, which could make it challenging for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to find a replacement because all three were regarded as all-time greats in their respective roles and positions.
Jadeja took 54 wickets and scored 515 runs in 74 T20Is.

Kohli immediately declared his retirement during a post-match ceremony following India’s victory in the T20 World Cup, stating that it was time for the next generation to step up. However, at a news conference held after the game, Rohit Sharma stated that he is also giving up the shorter format.
The news that Rohit and Kohli will be leaving the T20I format was not totally shocking. After India’s 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final loss, neither player has played in any Twenty20 Internationals. They didn’t start playing T20Is again until January of this year, with their eyes set on the 2024 T20 World Cup.
After 125 T20I matches, Kohli finished as the second-highest run-scorer for India with 4,188 runs at a 48.69 average and a 137.04 strike rate.

As for Rohit, he left the format having amassed the greatest score of 4,231 runs in 159 games and the record for the most hundreds (five) in T20 internationals. In 2007, he won the first T20 World Cup as a player, and in 2024, he was the captain.
