Recap of the 3rd ODI match between Pakistan and Afghanistan :

Pakistan emerged victorious against Afghanistan in every match of the series. Opting to bat first in the third game, Pakistan encountered a stumbling block as their opening batsman couldn’t deliver as expected. Despite his consistent performance in the previous two matches, Imam departed early. Consequently, the team’s captain had to shoulder the responsibility. Babar Azam and Rizwan rose to the occasion and rescued the team admirably. Both players exhibited remarkable innings, with Babar contributing 60 runs, while Rizwan’s valiant effort concluded at 67 runs before being dismissed.

Posting a substantial total of 268 runs, Pakistan set a formidable target. Despite the challenge, the Afghan batting lineup had previously displayed their prowess by amassing 300 runs in the preceding match. Gurbaz had shone brightly, accumulating 151 runs. However, Pakistan’s bowling strength is well recognized, and the Afghan batsmen struggled to hold their ground against both the pace and spin attacks. Vice-captain Shahdab Khan and Faheem Ashraf delivered exceptional bowling performances. Shahdab secured three wickets, while Faheem, Nawaz, and Shaheen each claimed two wickets apiece. Additionally, Salman Ali Agha chipped in with one wicket to further bolster Pakistan’s bowling effort.

With the exception of Mujeeb ur Rehman, none of the batters managed to put up a substantial score. Mujeeb contributed 64 runs, yet his efforts went unrewarded on this occasion. The Afghan team was eventually dismissed, tallying a total of 209 runs.
