Abdullah Shafiuqe, the substitute player who replaced Imam, made a significant contribution by scoring 52 runs.

Iftikhar built a partnership with Rizwan and played a crucial 47-run innings, which included 2 big sixes. Additionally, in bowling, he took 3 wickets.

Pakistan’s skipper could only manage to score 29 runs before getting stumped by Dunith Wellalage.

Matheesha Pathirana proved to be a challenge for the Pakistani batsmen, as he claimed 3 wickets.

This marked Sri Lanka’s first ODI victory against Pakistan since 2015. Sri Lanka will advance to the Asia Cup 2023 final against India. Additionally, they are set to face Pakistan again in the World Cup on October 10th.
