PSL 9 Schedule to be confirmed on 13 December during the draft at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore.
The comprehensive schedule is set to be disclosed on December 13 during the draft at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) aims to host these matches across four venues
Teams are scheduled to start gathering on February 12 for practice sessions and matches over four days.
The action kicks off on February 17 in Lahore with defending champs Lahore Qalandars facing Islamabad United in the opener. The following day, Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings clash in Multan.
Karachi’s first game is slated for February 28 between Karachi Kings and Islamabad United, while matches in Rawalpindi commence on March 1 with United playing Quetta Gladiators. Six double-headers will spice up the event.
A total of 11 matches are scheduled for Karachi, nine each in Lahore and Rawalpindi, and five in Multan. The playoff matches and the final will all be held in Karachi, with the final showdown scheduled for March 17.
During last week’s player retentions by franchises, several notable names weren’t retained. Lahore Qalandars kept skipper Shaheen Afridi in the Platinum category, while Islamabad United held on to captain Shadab Khan and top-trade Naseem Shah.
The PCB shared
“Following the finalization of all trades and retentions, Multan Sultans will now have the first pick in the first round of the Platinum category after some trades between Multan and Quetta. Each franchise will possess a Right to Match Card allowing them to pick any released player during the draft.”
