Not only PSL 9, but Rashid missed the Big Bash League, a three-game T20I series against the India Cricket Team. However, he was beside the Afghanistan National Team to encourage them but didn’t take a role to perform with them.

Rashid Khan in a video interview with Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) said:

Rashid also said the injury period was not easy for him. But he is happy that cricket fans around the globe support him in this phase. Rashid added:

“The last three months were difficult because I had surgery. I had been suffering from a back injury for the last seven to eight months and the doctor had asked me to have surgery even before the World Cup. Still, I decided to play the World Cup and have surgery afterward because it was such an important event for us but Alhamdulillah I am back on the field and feeling well now. Now my focus is on returning to the field and bringing joy and success to the nation.”

The first match of the series between Afghanistan vs Ireland will be played tomorrow.

Furthermore, the 2nd and 3rd T20I will be played on March 17th and 18th. The venue decided for this game will be in Sharjah.
