Afridi expressed his intention to have a conversation with Mohammad Amir to understand if he is keen on making a comeback to the Pakistan side.

“I will talk to Mohammad Amir to see if he’s interested in returning to play for Pakistan once more. It was a great experience to bowl alongside him after almost 5 years. Our partnership was excellent,” Afridi stated during the X-Space session.

Amir retired from international cricket in 2020, citing perceived unfair treatment by then-head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis.

In a recent media interaction, Amir mentioned that he has moved on and has different priorities in his life currently.

“At this point, I have moved on. I have other things in my life to focus on,” Mohammad Amir stated.

The former fast bowler, absent from international cricket for three years, hinted at the challenges of returning to the game in the ever-evolving cricket landscape.

“Three years is a significant time away from international cricket. The situation in Pakistan cricket changes frequently, so it’s uncertain what the future holds,” Amir remarked.

“For me, this discussion is closed. After being away for three years, I don’t think it would be wise for me to return, at least not now. I cannot predict what will happen in the coming years,” he concluded.
