2025 Champions Trophy Hosting Rights Officially Granted to PCB by ICC

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sealed the deal with the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the 2025 Champions Trophy Hosting Rights. They signed this agreement in Dubai last Friday.

2025 Champions Trophy: 7 Qualified Teams from ICC World Cup 2023

Zaka Ashraf, Chairman of the PCB Management Committee, and Jonathan Hall, ICC General Counsel, inked the deal at the ICC headquarters.

PCB notified the government about beefing up security for the visiting teams during the tournament. Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar pledged full support from security agencies for a successful event.

This marks the return of the ICC Champions Trophy after an eight-year break since its last run in 2017. Sri Lanka and West Indies missed out due to rankings, with Sri Lanka falling short in the ICC World Cup 2023 standings.

Eight teams, including host Pakistan, will feature in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. These confirmed teams are:

  1. Pakistan (hosts)
  2. India
  3. South Africa
  4. Australia
  5. New Zealand
  6. Afghanistan
  7. England
  8. Bangladesh
