The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) unveiled the match officials for the upcoming Pakistan Super League PSL 2024 season.
The tournament is set to run from February 17 to March 18, featuring games across four cities: Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi.
In a press release, the PCB disclosed that four members from the ICC’s elite panel of umpires, including Richard Illingworth, Chris Gaffaney, Ahsan Raza, and Michael Gough, would officiate matches.
They will be joined by local umpires Abdul Moqeet, Aleem Dar, Tariq Rasheed, Shozab Raza, Rashid Riaz, Faisal Afridi, Ruchira Palliyaguruge, Asif Yaqoob, Alex Wharf, Nasir Hussain, Imran Jawed, and Muhammad Asif.
The opening match between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United will see veteran umpires Aleem Dar and Michael Gough on the field, with Tariq Rasheed as the TV umpire and Shozab Raza as the reserve umpire.
Roshan Mahanama, a former member of the ICC’s elite panel of match referees, will lead the team of match referees, including Ali Naqvi and Muhammad Javed.
PSL 2024 will be divided into two legs, with matches initially held at Multan Cricket Stadium and Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, followed by games at Rawalpindi’s Pindi Cricket Stadium and Karachi’s National Bank Stadium. The playoffs and final will be held exclusively in Karachi.
