The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced Gray Kristen and Jason Gillespie as Pakistan Cricket head coach. Gray Kristen from South Africa and Jason Gillespie from Australia will command the men’s cricket team. The news was confirmed by Chairman PCB, Mohsin Naqvi in a press conference held on Sunday.
After a lengthy selection procedure, this appointment will be based on a two-year contract. The coaches will help the Pakistan Cricket team for the upcoming series against Ireland, and England, and the international tournament of the year ICC World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and US.
Gray Kristen will handle the white-ball cricket format, which includes One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20Is), while Australian Coach Gillespie will lead the team in red-ball cricket.

Kirsten will take charge of the group during the England tour in May, which will include a four-game Twenty20 International series that kicks off in Leeds on May 22. After the series ends on May 30, the team will go to the USA and the Caribbean to compete in the T20 World Cup.
During the two-Test series against Bangladesh in August, Gillespie will be in command. His stint as a coach has been distinguished by victories on the national and international scene, with a focus on team performance and player development.
Azhar Mahmood has also been named assistant coach for all formats, where he will support head coaches and the national team with his experience.

It is worth noting that the head coach position had been vacant since Grant Bradburn, who succeeded Saqlain Mushtaq, stepped down in January to join Glamorgan as their head coach. The PCB had approached several high-profile candidates, including Shane Watson, who ultimately withdrew from the selection process.
