Former captain Shahid Afridi shared his deep emotions on social media with some heart-touching photos, following his daughter’s wedding to Pakistan’s fast bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi, in Karachi on Monday.

Afridi shared two heartwarming photos, capturing a moment where he warmly embraced the couple against a beautiful wedding backdrop.

Afridi posted on [social media platform X] :

“The light that entered our home yesterday is now fading before our very eyes. Baba’s heart is heavy, but the hope of a new dawn has come to comfort him. @anshaheen.”

The event was honored by the attendance of several well-known personalities, including Pakistan captain Babar Azam. Nevertheless, both dispelled these rumors as they warmly greeted each other at the wedding. Babar made a grand entrance at the venue and shared a big hug with Shaheen.

Earlier today, Shaheen Afridi shared a photo with skipper Babar Azam, putting to rest any speculations of a rift between the two.

There have been several reports indicating that the pair were not in agreement and had disagreements following Pakistan’s defeat to Sri Lanka in a crucial match during the Asia Cup 2023 last week.

In a picture posted by Shaheen Afridi on the social media platform ‘X‘ alongside Babar Azam, the left-arm pacer captioned it as ‘family’ with a heart emoji.

The gathering also witnessed the participation of cricket stars like Misbah-ul-Haq, Saeed Anwar, Tanveer Ahmed, and Sohail Khan.

The Valima reception will take place in Islamabad on September 21. The couple’s engagement had occurred two years ago.
