The Lahore vs Peshawar match in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine had to be called off because of continuous rain and a wet field in Rawalpindi today.
The stadium put covers on the field after heavy rain in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Although the rain stopped for a while, the ground staff had to work on drying the field before the match. Unfortunately, even after their efforts, the umpires decided it wasn’t possible to start the match before 4:47 pm local time.

Both teams were at the stadium, but the rain delayed their arrival.
It’s important to note that rain might disrupt more matches in Rawalpindi today. Along with Lahore Qalandars versus Peshawar Zalmi, there’s another match between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators scheduled at Pindi Cricket Stadium.
There was heavy rain in Rawalpindi and Islamabad yesterday too.
The Meteorological Office officials warned that there are chances of more rain and thunderstorms on Saturday, which could affect the matches.
Pindi Stadium usually sees a full house during international matches or PSL games. The presence of the crowd always makes the atmosphere festive. Temporary seating for around ten thousand spectators has been arranged for the nine matches at the stadium over the next ten days.
Two of the highest scores in PSL history were made at Pindi Stadium, with Multan Sultans scoring 262 against Quetta Gladiators and Quetta scoring 253 against Multan in the same match.
However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to change the reputation of the stadium this year by instructing the groundsmen to prepare pitches that are fair for both bowlers and batsmen, rather than favoring high-scoring games.
