Pak vs NZ highlights: Green Team Clinches Victory to Level the Series

Pakistan defeated New Zealand one-sided by seven wickets with 47 balls remaining in the second T20I of the five-match series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

In this game, Wicketkeeper Batsman Mohammad Rizwan has made a record of becoming the fastest Player by scoring 3,000 T20 runs. Rizwan in today’s game made 45 runs and gave an important victory to the team.

New Zealand gave a low target of 91 runs, and Pakistan’s pacers’ attack and spin department did an incredible job today in the second T20.

Amid 91 runs, Pakistan was handed a blow in the first over as opener Saim Ayub got out on the second ball of the innings scoring just four runs.

Babar Azam and Rizwan took the field after Ayub’s dismissal but the skipper too followed the youngster in the fifth over after contributing just 14 runs as he fell prey to Michael Bracewell.

Usman Khan, who chose to play for Pakistan against the UAE, was clean-bowled by Ish Sodhi for just seven runs after Babar was removed from the game. But Rizwan and Irfan Khan Niazi led the home team to win, and that was the last wicket the Green Shirts lost.

A 36-run stand was recorded by the two batters. Rizwan finished his inning with 45 runs, while Niazi scored 18 runs.

With the first Twenty20 International postponed due to weather, the Green Shirts now hold a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.

Pakistan’s bowling assault was at its peak earlier in the first innings, as they bowled out the whole New Zealand team for ninety runs in 18.1 overs.

In the third over of the game Shaheen Shah Afridi who is well-known for taking wickets with new balls, sent back the New Zealand opener batsman Tim Seifert on 12 runs.

After Shaheen, Mohammad Amir, who was playing his first match for Pakistan in almost four years, came to bowl and struck in his first over, removing Tim Robinson for just four runs.

Amir continues to become the struggle for the Black Cap’s batting lineup, he took the wicket of Dean Foxcroft with skipper Babar Azam taking a simple catch.

Abrar Ahmed the mystery spinner clinched two wickets in the 9th over, sending Mark Chapman and James Neesham back to room.

The remaining damage down the order was done by Shadab Khan and Naseem Shah. Only four New Zealand batters managed to score in double digits as Pakistan dominated the night with the ball.

Shaheen picked three, while Amir, Abrar, and Shadab got two each. Naseem could only bag one.
