Even former England captain Sir Alastair Cook, now a pundit for TNT Sports, admitted that Jaiswal’s sixes in this innings surpassed Cook’s entire Test career tally of 11, expressing his amazement at the comparison.

In only his seventh Test match, the young batsman has made a stellar start to his India career, accumulating 861 Test runs, with an impressive 545 runs scored in this series alone.

India’s positive news continues with spinner Ravi Ashwin set to return to the team for the hosts against England on the penultimate day of the third Test in Rajkot.

Ashwin had to withdraw from the Test on Friday evening due to a family medical emergency, leaving India with only 10 players as he couldn’t be replaced with bat or ball, only in the field.

However, the esteemed spinner will be back in action on day four and immediately available as India aims to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.

A statement from Jay Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, confirmed Ashwin’s return to the field and expressed gratitude for the understanding and support shown by the team, management, media, and fans during this challenging time.

Ashwin the key bowler for the blue team recently made 500 test wickets and had to leave for Chennai due to an emergency with his mother. This news was confirmed by Rajiv Shukla who is the Vice-President of BCCI.
