Though Warner’s final innings of 57 runs didn’t secure the winning runs, Australia effortlessly chased down Pakistan’s 130-run target, winning the series 3-0. The Sydney Cricket Ground bid adieu to Warner, with over 22,000 fans giving him a standing ovation.

Warner concludes his Test career with 8,786 runs at an average of 44.59 and 26 centuries since his debut in 2011 against New Zealand. In an emotional speech post-match, he credited his family for their support and cherished moments spent together.

Reflecting on the future, Warner acknowledged the aging team but praised their energy and class.

He aspired to be remembered as an exciting and entertaining player, hoping to inspire young talents to follow suit. He emphasized the significance of Test cricket, urging aspiring players to value and work hard for the red-ball format.

Pakistan’s poor performance in Australia continued, having lost 17 consecutive Tests there since their last win in 1995. Australia had already sealed the series with victories in the first two Tests in Perth and Melbourne before the Sydney fixture.
