Sri Lanka Cricket Former Captain Lahiru Thirimanne faced a car accident, In which he got some serious injuries. the incident took place on Thursday morning.
The incident took place in the city of Anuradhapura, near the northern-central when his car was hit by another coming car.
However, the exact details about Sri Lanka cricket stars are not confirmed yet and details about injuries are not revealed.
He is currently admitted to Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital and the good news is that the player is in normal condition.
The person with the other car who got injured with Lahiru is getting treatment from the same hospital.
According to ESPNcricinfo, Lahiru was traveling when the accident happened. His car hit a lorry moving in a different direction.
After making his international debut in 2010, Thirimanne featured in 44 Test matches, 127 ODIs, and 26 T20Is for Sri Lanka. He also participated in two ODI World Cups from Sri Lanka in 2014 and 2017.
He was also the captain of the team in five ODI games. His last appearance on the ground was marked in 2023. Lahiru will retire from International Cricket in July 2023.
