According to media reports, there was a verbal exchange between Pakistan Cricket Team Captain Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi.
Pakistan cricket team captain addressed recent speculations surrounding an alleged verbal spat between him and fellow teammate Shaheen Afridi during the recently concluded final against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023.
Babar stated that the team resembles a close-knit family with a strong bond among its members, despite reports indicating that the duo engaged in a verbal altercation following their exit from the Asia Cup 2023.

Babar Azam on rumors:
“Everyone on the team respects each other,” Azam explained.
“The meeting was entirely routine, but it was represented as if there was a conflict. In reality, there was no such dispute. we genuinely care for each other like a family.”
He also discussed the potential of facing arch-rivals India in the ICC World Cup 2023.
Babar Azam on India vs. Pakistan Clash :
“I’m very excited to play in Ahmedabad. It is the biggest stadium in the world and will be jam-packed for the India-Pakistan clash. I will try to perform to the best of my ability. I can’t exactly tell you how I will do since I’m not an astrologer.”
“I’m not worried about my performance. I always try to perform in a manner which suits the team” he added.
Despite criticism of the team selection for the World Cup, Azam expressed his support for the squad in the lead-up to the tournament.
“I have more faith in my team than in myself. These are the same players who contributed to Pakistan achieving the number one ranking. I believe these players will wholeheartedly dedicate themselves to the team’s success”.
