The Green Shirts nailed a 12-run target in the super-over, thanks to Aliya Riaz’s batting brilliance. They defended it well, with Sadia Iqbal restricting New Zealand to just eight runs. However, despite this victory, New Zealand claimed the three-match ODI series 2-1.

When Pakistan chased a 252-run target, they stumbled early, losing Muneeba Ali and Sidra Ameen at 37 runs in 7.4 overs. But a resilient partnership between Bismah Maroof and Aliya Riaz, worth 101 runs, revived their hopes.

Riaz fell short of a fifty, getting out for 44, while Maroof, displaying her skill, topped the scorecard with 68 runs, earning the Player of the Match title.

Fatima Sana (36 off 33) and Natalia Pervaiz (26 off 23) contributed swiftly, steering Pakistan closer to the target. With just one wicket in hand, Pakistan needed eight runs off the final six balls. Najiha Alvi’s steady contributions in the last wicket partnership helped Pakistan tie the game, avoiding a whitewash.

In their innings, Amelia Kerr’s 77 off 87 balls and Maddy Green’s unbeaten 65 powered New Zealand to a challenging total. Skipper Sophie Devine (29) and Suzie Bates (24) also made notable contributions.

Notably, ahead of this series, Pakistan made history as the first Asian side to defeat the New Zealand women’s team in a T20I series.
