Today, there was a citizenship ceremony where Tillakaratne Dilshan, a former Sri Lankan cricket player and captain, became an Australian citizen.

Dilshan was known for his incredible performances, especially in one-day international cricket. He holds records for his impressive batting, including being the top run-scorer in the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. He also played a crucial role in Sri Lanka’s victory in the 2014 ICC World Twenty20.

MP Jason Wood welcomed Dilshan as a new Australian citizen and local resident. He even suggested that Dilshan might consider joining a local cricket team. Wood also mentioned Dilshan’s daughter Resandi, who seems to be following in her father’s footsteps.

Throughout his career, Dilshan played over 300 ODIs, scoring more than 10,000 runs. He also had a successful Test and T20I career, known for his unique batting style, including the famous scoop shot.
